Business Immigrants

The Start-Up Visa Investor Program is for foreign nationals with innovative business ideas looking to commercialize their innovation in Canada. The successful candidates need to pitch their business ideas to designated institutions including Venture Capitals, Business Incuabors, and Angel Investors.
Candidates have to seek a minimum investment or funding of $200,000 from venture capitals and business incubators or a $75,000 commitment from designated angel investors.

Once candidates get the letter of support from these designated, they will be eligible for PR applications.

The Business Owners/ Investor Programs require potential business owners to invest in, create, or buy businesses in Canada in order to apply for a work permit to come to Canada and manage their business. Some of the work permit options for foreign investors to come to Canada and manage the business include Owner Operator LMIA, Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement of Trans-Pacific Partnership work permits, and North American Free Trade Agreement work permits.

The candidates need to have ongoing involvement in their business and oversee the day-to-day operation of their business.

After working in Canada as a business owner for a year, foreign investors might be qualified for Express Entry – Federal Skilled worker program or other possible programs dependent on their profiles.

The PNP Entrepreneur is an immigration route for people with entrepreneur and business owner experience who want to be permanent residents in specific regions through establishing business in that province.

Each PNP has various requirements in terms of networth, investment amount, work experience and other criteria.
